The Islamic Society of Tampa Bay Area is a non-profit organization which strives to serve the religious, educational, and social needs of the growing Muslim community of the Tampa Bay Area as well as to reach out to our non-Muslim neighbors in order to teach them about our our faith and way of life.
Our purpose is mainly to maintain an Islamic center in this community to serve as a place for Islamic prayers and cultural and religious activities; to serve the youth by providing them the educational courses on Islam, its teachings, and culture; and to provide Muslims with the spiritual guidance based on the teachings of Islam. ISTABA also serves to organize courses of study in Qur’an and the Sunnah in addition to the Islamic history, as well as strive to meet the needs of Muslim and non-Muslim knowledge seekers, to enhance tolerance, dialogue, goodwill, understanding and fellowship, and to promote friendly relations between Muslims and non-Muslims.
The Islamic Society of Tampa Bay Area will dedicate all of its resources for the service of Allah (God), Lord of all mankind, most Merciful. We will, with his help, establish a peaceful and brotherly center which caters to the spiritual and educational needs of all Muslims. We will adhere to the teachings of our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon him) i.e. to love our Muslim brothers and sisters and avoid all factional, racial, and national prejudices in everything we do.
We proclaim to our community at large that we will be honest, clean, benevolent, honorable, respectful, and the best of neighbors. We support justice, family values, honesty, truthfulness, mercy for the young, care for the old, and charity for the poor, following the steps for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whom Allah sent as a mercy to all mankind.
We are bound by our oath to Allah to love and support the oppressed by prayer and peaceful humanitarian aid. We reject any treachery or violence, as it is our oath with Allah before it is with mankind.
Our struggle is teaching our principles, caring for the sick and feeding the needy, whether Muslim or Non-Muslim, and honoring our oath to Allah as well as to our fellow citizens.
We encourage and pray for all Muslims to support and establish their own economical, social, professional, and communal association, although it is not our primary goal.
